Predicted Crystal Palace line-up to face Man City in the Premier League

Crystal Palace face a trip to the Etihad to play against Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Eagles have struggled so far this season but they head into this game on the back of a 1-0 victory over Leicester City. With that win, Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace climbed to 15th in the table.

However, they face an uphill task at the weekend against Manchester City, who are second in the table just one point adrift of league leaders Liverpool.

Team News

Wilfried Zaha and James Tomkins return from their suspensions. Scott Dann provided Crystal Palace with a timely injury boost by returning as an unused substitute against Leicester City after recovering from ACL injury.

Christian Benteke remains out injured, while Wayne Hennessey and Cheikhou Kouyate are doubtful for the Manchester City game.

Probable Crystal Palace XI

Formation: 3-5-2

Manager: Roy Hodgson

Vicente Guaita (GK)

Kept a clean sheet on his Premier League debut against Leicester City but he’ll have to be at the top of his game on Saturday to record another.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RWB)

Wan-Bissaka continues to ooze class on the right. He is one of the first names on the team sheet.

Martin Kelly (RCB)

Kelly is likely to be a part of a three-man backline that Hodgson uses to combat City’s threat at the Etihad stadium.

James Tomkins

James Tomkins (CB)

Back from suspension, Tomkins will walk straight back into the starting XI against Manchester City.

Mamadou Sakho (LCB)

Strong in the air and robust in the challenge, Sakho will have his task cut out against a mesmerising City attack.

Patrick van Aanholt (LWB)

Starting at left wing-back, Van Aanholt would have the license to move forward and contribute to the attacks regularly.

Luka Milivojevic (CDM)

Milivojevic will have a mighty task on his shoulders, protecting the backline against Pep Guardiola’s City.

James McArthur (RCM)

A tigerish midfielder, McArthur will add energy to the engine room. His role in the middle of the park would be vital on Saturday.

Max Meyer (LCM)

Meyer is an intelligent player who has the ability to pick out a pass as well as put in excellent defensive shifts.

Max Meyer

Andros Townsend (RS)

Townsend will look to pick up important spaces and cause problems to the City backline. He is a certain starter.

For Palace to stand any chance of getting something out of this game, they’ll need Zaha to be at his sublime best.
