Predicted Tottenham XI to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League

With Premier League action set to resume after the international break, Spurs will be playing host to London rivals Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side haven’t had a good time in the Premier League since their opening-day 3-1 victory over Aston Villa, with a 1-0 loss to Newcastle United sandwiched by 2-2 draws against Man City and Arsenal, and the Lilywhites will be hoping for a turnaround of fortunes when they face a resurgent Palace side this weekend.

Palace, on the other hand, currently find themselves fourth in the standings after back-to-back victories over Man United and Aston Villa and the Eagles will be looking bag another major scalp early in the campaign.

Team News

Giovani Lo Celso picked up an injury playing for Argentina against Chile during the international break and he is expected to miss the weekend clash against Palace, as is his compatriot Juan Foyth, who is ruled out with an ankle injury.

Eric Dier (groin), Tanguy Ndombele (thigh), Ryan Sessegnon and Kyle Walker-Peters (thigh) are all on the comeback trail from their respective injuries but Pochettino will be aware of a tricky Champions League fixture away at Olympiacos next Wednesday.

Formation: 3-4-1-2

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

Predicted XI

1. Hugo Lloris (GK)

The Frenchman made a number of key saves in the 2-2 draw against Arsenal in the previous game and he has always been a figure of reliability between the sticks for the Lilywhites.

2. Toby Alderweireld (RCB)

The Belgian international has by far been Tottenham’s most reliable defender so far this season and they will need him to be at the top of his game against a resurgent Palace unit.

3. Jan Vertonghen (LCB)

The veteran didn’t really look sharp in the North London derby and was partially at fault for Aubameyang’s second-half equaliser. He will be expected to step up his game on Saturday.

4. Davinson Sanchez (CB)

The Colombian had a nightmarish outing in an unfamiliar right-back role against Arsenal and Pochettino might as well slot him back to his usual position at the expense of a tactical switch.

5. Moussa Sissoko (RWB)

The Frenchman has impressed with his tireless running up and down the pitch and he might find himself in a right wing-back role if Pochettino does opt for a back-three in the absence of Kyle Walker-Peters.

6. Danny Rose (LWB)

The England international has started each of Spurs’ first four games in the Premier League this term and he will be expected to continue that streak on Saturday.

7. Harry Winks (CM)

Tough and energetic, the youngster has been a reliable presence for the Lilywhites in the middle of the park with his composure in possession and ability to break up the play.

8. Christian Eriksen (CM)

The talismanic playmaker found the net against Arsenal in what was his first start in the Premier League this season and Spurs will once again be hoping for him to make a big difference.

9. Erik Lamela (CAM)

The Argentinian has lacked sharpness at times in the final third but he has been impressive by and large, with a goal and an assist already in his bag.

10. Heung-min Son (ST)

The Korean showed strong signs of returning to his sparkling best against Arsenal and the fans will be hoping for him to kick on and get his first goal in the bag on Saturday.

11. Harry Kane (ST)

England’s golden boy hasn’t really hit top gear thus far this season but he already has 3 goals to his name and Spurs will need him to fire all guns blazing to outshine Palace.
