Predicted Crystal Palace line-up to face Chelsea in the Premier League

Crystal Palace will lock horns with Chelsea in Sunday’s London derby at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.

The Eagles bowed out of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday after losing 1-0 to Middlesbrough. However, they would be buoyant to face Chelsea after last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal at Selhurst Park.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are unbeaten in the Premier League and come into this game after booking a place in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup.

Team News

Scott Dann is expected to be fit at the end of next month but Joel Ward could miss the game with a muscular injury.

Christian Benteke, meanwhile, continues to remain sidelined with a knee injury.

Probable Crystal Palace XI

Formation: 4-4-2

Manager: Roy Hodgson

Wayne Hennessey (GK)

Hennessey is one of the most underrated goalkeepers in the Premier League. He has been a regular fixture in goal for Palace this season and should keep his place in the team.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

Aaron Wan-Bissaka (RB)

Wan-Bissaka continues to impress with every passing game. He has nailed down a regular place at right-back and is a certain starter against Chelsea.

James Tomkins (CB)

Not very assured when it comes to playing from the back but Tomkins is a no-nonsense defender who looks to keep things simple.

Mamadou Sakho (CB)

Sakho has not been great this season, with momentary lapses being a feature of his game. He needs to be at the top of his game to keep the Chelsea forwards quiet.

Patrick van Aanholt (LB)

Van Aanholt is an attacking left-back who leaves no stone unturned when it comes to joining the attack.

Luka Milivojevic (CM)

Buried two emphatic penalties against Arsenal last weekend and would be eager to get on the scoresheet at Chelsea. A solid midfielder, Milivojevic will face a tough task to break Chelsea’s free-flow football.

Max Meyer (CM)

A classy operator of the ball, Meyer is still finding his feet in the Premier League. The German is a technically gifted player who is excellent in reading the game and running the show from the midfield.

James McArthur (LW)

McArthur is a tireless worker off the ball. He adds so much energy and bite to Palace’s engine room.

Andros Townsend (RW)

Townsend has not been at his explosive best this season. He has done well in patches but needs to start putting in consistent displays.

Wilfried Zaha

Wilfried Zaha (LS)

Palace’s most potent weapon going forward, Zaha is capable of winning games single-handedly. The Ivorian is unplayable on his day and will look to give Chelsea defenders a run for their money on Sunday.

Jordan Ayew (RS)

He is yet to score a goal for Crystal Palace this season but Jordan Ayew works extremely hard off the ball and in Benteke’s absence, he is likely to start on Sunday.
