Rangers welcome Russian outfit Spartak Moscow to the Ibrox on Thursday for a Europa League group stage encounter.
The Gers are on top of their group after bagging a brilliant point at Villarreal and a fantastic home win against Rapid Vienna. Spartak Moscow, meanwhile, only have a point to their name after a 2-0 loss to Rapid Vienna before a dramatic 3-3 draw with Villarreal at home.
The game at Ibrox on Thursday will be the first competitive meeting between the two sides.
Midfielder Graham Dorrans is set for a spell on the sidelines after nearly a year out with ankle and knee injuries. Jamie Murphy, meanwhile, is a long-term injury and Jordan Rossiter is not included in the Rangers Europa League squad.
McGregor has been brilliant between the sticks since returning to Rangers earlier this summer. He is a definite starter for the game.
Tavernier has been in fantastic form of late and should continue in his role at right-back.
Rangers’ Mr.Consistent, Goldson continues to be a rock at the back and also a very good organiser.
Partnering him in central defence could be Worrall, who has done well whenever given a chance by Gerrard.
Flanagan is an industrious full-back who loves venturing forward to join the attack.
Halliday could be the man to be deployed at the base of the midfield trio. He is capable of shielding the backline, offering a firm base for Rangers’ creative players to excel.
Coulibaly adds a lot of steel to Rangers’ midfield. He is physical, aggressive and is a strong tackler.
Ejaria has nailed down a regular place in the starting XI under Gerrard. He is a creative presence in the midfield and Gerrard would hope the Liverpool loanee delivers the goods against Spartak Moscow.
Kent has been in brilliant form for the Gers of late. He is a certain starter on Thursday.
He is starting to look like the player he was last season. A good crosser of the ball, Candeias should start on the right wing.
Leading the line for Rangers could be Morelos, who has been a chief source of goals for Gerrard’s side.
