Predicted Wigan Athletic line-up to face Millwall in the Championship

Wigan Athletic travel to the Den to face Millwall on Tuesday in the Championship, hoping to build on from the victory over West Brom last weekend.

The Latics ended their three-game winless run by beating West Brom 1-0, thanks to a second-half goal from Josh Windass.

Paul Cook’s side now come up against Millwall, whose spirits might have dampened following the 3-1 defeat at Reading on Saturday.

Team News

Will Grigg missed the last game with a hamstring injury and is set to miss the Tuesday’s clash too. Gavin Massey is already out until the New Year, while Michael Jacobs has undergone a surgery to begin his recovery.

Darron Gibson is available for selection after serving his one-game suspension.

Probable Wigan Athletic XI

Formation: 4-4-2

Manager: Paul Cook

Christian Walton (GK)

Walton kept a clean sheet in the last game and will be hoping to keep another when Wigan square up against Millwall on Tuesday.

Reece James (RB)

James has been a bundle of energy on the right. He has been consistently dishing out impressive performances and deserves to start Tuesday’s game.

Chey Dunkley (CB)

Wigan’s leader at the back, Dunkley is one of the first names on the team sheet.

Cedric Kipre (CB)

Kipre has slowly started finding his feet in the Championship. He should continue to start alongside Dunkley at the heart of the Wigan defence.

Dan Burn (LB)

Burn started the last game at left-back and should be handed another start after putting in a good show in that position.

Callum McManaman (RM)

McManaman could give the Millwall defenders a tough time with his pace and trickery on the ball.

Lee Evans (CM)

Evans is a very influential player for the Latics. He would be looking to continue his good run of form.

Sam Morsy (CM)

The skipper of the side, Morsy is a combative midfielder who is adept at tackling and intercepting opposition’s play. A certain starter at the Den.

Gary Roberts (LM)

A hard-working player, Roberts should start on the left wing after impressing in the 1-0 win over West Brom.

Josh Windass (SS)

Windass found himself on the scoresheet this weekend that gave Wigan a crucial three points. Cook will hope to see his summer signing shine again on Tuesday.

Nick Powell (ST)

Wigan’s chief source of assists and goals, Powell is expected to lead the line against Millwall with Grigg out injured.
