Predicted Wolves Line-up To Face Millwall In The EFL Championship

Wolverhampton Wanderers will clash against Millwall in the sixth game of the season in the EFL Championship, at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday.

The Wolves have had a solid start to the new season under manager Nuno Espirito Santo, having won three of their five league games, with their only loss coming against Championship table leaders Cardiff City. They come into the game on the back of a goalless draw against Brentford, which was before the international break, and the manager will be keen on getting back to winning ways.

Team News

Right-back Phil Ofosu-Ayeh and Willy Boly are unavailable due to injuries and last season’s top scorer Helder Costa is still a doubt for the game.

Manager: Nuno Espirito Santo

Formation: 3-4-3

John Ruddy (GK)

A great addition to the squad, the former Norwich City man has been great since his arrival and will keep his place between the sticks.

Conor Coady (CB)

The 24-year old club captain has adapted well to his new role of a central defender and has been extremely effective in the three-man backline. No changes expected.

Conor Coady

Danny Batth (CB)

After missing out on the game against Brentford, Danny Batth should start the game as a part of the three man back line alongside Miranda and Coady.

Roderick Miranda (CB)

Completing the three-man defence for Nuno Santo will be Roderick Miranda. Has featured in every minute of the Championship fixtures this season and is in line for his sixth start.

Matt Doherty (RWB)

Another player who hasn’t missed a single minute of league action this season, the 25-year old Irishman will assume his duties as the right-sided wing-back.

Ruben Neves (CM)

The Portuguese midfielder has been a class addition and is living up to the expectations. Will take the field as one of the two central midfielders.

Ruben Neves

Romain Saiss (CM)

Partnering Neves in the middle of the park will be the quiet, but effective, Romain Saiss. The 27-year old Moroccan will render a steely nature to the Wolves’ midfield.

Barry Douglas (LWB)

The 28-year old has already scored once and registered two assists. Having missed the previous game, he should return to the starting XI, with Ruben Vinagre dropping out.

Ivan Cavaleiro (RW)

The winger has seen just 130 minutes of league action over 4 games but has managed a goal and an assist in his limited appearances. Could be in for his first start in the Championship this term.

Ivan Cavaleiro

Leo Bonatini (ST)

The Brazilian forward has started all the five Championship games so far and has scored a couple of goals. Will want to boost his tally, against Millwall.

Diogo Jota (LW)

Completing the line-up for the Wolves, will be the exciting young attacker Diogo Jota, who was signed on loan from Atletico Madrid in the summer.
