Why Nadiem Amiri would be a brilliant signing for Arsenal next summer

According to a report from the Sun, Arsenal are interested in signing Hoffenheim ace Nadiem Amiri at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old impressed under Julian Nagelsmann last season but is yet to feature for Hoffenheim this term as he recovers from a foot injury. Although he has returned to training after recovering from injury earlier this Wednesday, it’ll take him some time to get back to his old self.

The report claims Arsenal can sign Nadiem Amiri next summer for £15million due to a clause in the midfielder’s contract. But the main question arises – should the Gunners splash £15million on Nadiem Amiri?

Amiri joined 1899 Hoffenheim in 2012 from Waldhof Mannheim but it took him three years to break into the senior squad. At the age of just 22, the midfielder has already made 93 appearances in the Bundesliga, scoring 8 goals while creating 11 assists.

He has also represented Germany at every youth level and is currently a regular fixture of the German U21 team.

An attacking midfielder by trade, Amiri can also play as a wide playmaker. He is good with his passing, movement and does not hesitate to attack the opposition with his direct approach or supply balls into the box. The under-21 German international has got good vision and tends to pick out the runs of his teammates with incisive through balls.

The 22-year-old has a good eye for goal, while his link-up play and positional awareness are also admirable. Amiri’s all-round game makes him a complete prospect and his defensive contributions make him a perfect fit for Unai Emery’s style of play at Arsenal.

There are no doubts that Amiri’s addition will bolster Emery’s attacking options at the Emirates Stadium.
