Here Is A Top Class XI You Can Sign With The Fee That Manchester United Paid For Paul Pogba

Share

Manchester United have done it, they have signed Paul Pogba for an incredible fee of €105 million and that will only raise a few eyebrows. The Premier League club might have picked up one of the top talents in the world but what they might not know is that with that amount of money, they could have actually made a complete playing XI.

Not just any playing XI but a proper XI with some of the top stars in the world. Gonzalo Higuain didn’t feature in this list since he also had a crazy amount being paid for him but here is a great playing XI that could have been brought in place of the former Juventus star.

Please note: All values are taken from transfermarkt

Loris Karius – €9m

The Liverpool goalkeeper might have broken his hand in preseason but he certainly is one of the young upstarts in the team and is destined for greatness. The 23-year-old was certain to be the number one at Liverpool but his quality should shine through this season once he comes back.

Antonio Rudiger – €9m

The German international is one of the best in the national team and it is a surprise that he could be captured for as little as €9 million. The player was on loan at Roma last season and a permanent deal was confirmed this season for the fee mentioned above.

Joel Matip – Free

The 24-year-old could be a great signing for the Reds. Jurgen Klopp signed the Cameroon international for free from Schalke and his ability with the ball in defence could be crucial for Liverpool’s chances of a top four finish as well.

Marc Bartra – €8m

The former Barcelona star was signed by Borussia Dortmund after spending a number of seasons at Barcelona. It is not often you get a La Masia product for so cheap and certainly at 25-years of age, he has a lot of time on his hands to prove that Dortmund made the right decision in bringing him to Germany.

Marcelo Brozovic – €5m

The Croatian is one of the hottest properties in world football and with Inter Milan signing the midfielder for such a paltry amount, sometimes you do wonder if Manchester United overpaid for a talent. Brozovic might not be a Pogba but he certainly is better than 1/20th of the talent that Pogba possesses.

Alen Halilovic – €5m

Once touted to do great things at Barcelona, Halilovic was sold by the Catalan club with a buy-back clause (more on that later) to Hamburg and while he did have a great season with Sporting Gijon last season, the talented youngster can achieve more greatness if he continuously plays for the Bundesliga club.

Ilkay Gundogan – €27m

The new Manchester City midfielder is one of the best in the world when it comes to passing the ball around and controlling the rhythm of the game. The German might have come at a snip of the price being paid for Pogba but he certainly is a great acquisition for the Citizens.

Christoph Kramer – €15m

The World Cup winner was one of the best players in the tournament and it is no surprise that he was bought by Borussia Monchengladbach after spending a couple of years on loan. The 25-year-old is great in midfield and his signing is certainly a cheap one with the price tag being touted.

Mario Gotze – €22m

The prodigal son has returned, Mario Gotze did not have a great time at Bayern Munich and is back at Borussia Dortmund. The German star would be looking to ensure that he does star for his new club but he is extremely talented and the €22 million being paid for him seems to be peanuts compared to Pogba.

Denis Suarez – €3.25m

This was a great deal pulled off by Barcelona, after selling Suarez to Villarreal, they ensured they had a buy-back clause and after the 22-year-old’s brilliant performance for the Yellow Submarines, Barcelona had no issues with calling him back for a real steal!

Zlatan Ibrahimovic – Free

How can we have a starting XI with some of the best deals of the summer without the Swedish star? Zlatan has been one of the best players in recent seasons and after his incredible time with PSG, the former Inter Milan, AC Milan, Juventus and Ajax striker is set to star for Manchester United and with him coming on a free, it just sweetens the deal.

The total transfer fee for this XI: €103.25
