Two players Burnley should sign in January transfer window

According to a report from Sky Sports, Burnley manager Sean Dyche wants to a sign a winger and a striker in the January transfer window.

After a brilliant campaign that ended with them qualifying for European football, Burnley have failed to maintain the same level this season. After 12 league games, the Clarets have registered just nine points on board.

Sean Dyche’s team have been too brittle at the back and disappointing to watch going forward. The team that was a surprise package last term, has just not produced the goods that were expected at the start of the new campaign.

Burnley have conceded 25 goals in 12 games, which is a huge shock considering that Dyche has always built on a strong defensive foundation. But in James Tarkowski, Ben Mee, Kevin Long and Ben Gibson, the Clarets have a decent backline that doesn’t need further strengthening, to be honest. In fact, Dyche wants to add a couple forwards to boost his attacking ranks.

That being said, here are two players Burney should sign in January.

Kemar Roofe (Leeds United)

Kemar Roofe has been one of the cornerstones of Leeds United’s good start to the new Championship campaign, registering 7 goals and 2 assists from 11 appearances.

Kemar Roofe

Roofe has improved the different facets of his game under Marcelo Bielsa and now looks to take the next step to the Premier League. Burnley must consider making a move for the 25-year-old Englishman in January.

A versatile attacking player who has the ability to operate on either wing or through the middle as a supporting striker, Roofe excels in direct football and takes on the defenders. He is pacy, agile, tenacious and likes to have a pop at goal from distance. Furthermore, the 25-year-old is also a really good finisher, renowned for his clinical nature in front of the goal.

Currently impressing in the Championship with Leeds, Roofe would be a brilliant addition for the goal-shy Burnley.

Godsway Donyoh (FC Nordsjealland)

Ghanaian attacker Godsway Donyoh has been in brilliant form in the Danish top-flight this season, scoring 7 goals from 11 appearances for FC Nordsjealland.

A quick, agile and a fleet-footed winger, Donyoh has the ability to operate on either wing and also as a centre-forward. The Ghanaian can light up the scene with his blistering pace and energy. He is capable of creating his own space with sharp turns and leaves the defenders for dead with his instant acceleration.

To add to that, he is also known for his tenacity and would be a good fit for Dyche’s system at Burnley.
