Guardiola Hints A Move To Premier League, Which Club Could It Be ?

Share

Ex-Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola has followed his compatriot Jose Mourinho in praising the Premier League and it’sstandards during their interview regarding the 150 years celebrations of the English FA.

Where could Guardiola possibly be next season ?

Pep, the most sought after manager is set to end his sabbatical this summer, and there will be a huge number of clubs after his signature. Having left Barcelona after 4 years, losing just 21 games from 247, admitted that he wants to work in England. Chelsea could be the most likely destination with the evident desire that Abramovich has for the Spaniard, but Manchester City could also be a possible destination should Mancini fail to achieve any form of success this season.  All we know is, Guardiola will be open to a new club in the summer and he won’t be short of opportunities.

Prior to Guardiola, Real Madrid managerMourinho also showed his intent to revisit the country as a manager. With both the managers clearly expressing what the future holds for them it will be interesting to see which club makes the first move to pounce on their targets. Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City are the most likely destination for Guardiola and Mourinho with an outside chance of even replacing Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.

Transcripts from Guariola’s interview:

“I’ve always found English football very fascinating, just for the environment, the crowd and the supporters,” Guardiola, speaking from New York where he has been living with his family, said in a message on the English Football Association’s website.

“As a player, I couldn’t realise my dream to play there but I hope in the future, I have a challenge to be a coach or a manager there and feel the experience of all the coaches and players that have been there,” he said.

“It is unique, to play in that league. I want to feel the supporters, the environment, the media and the style of the players and everything.

“I am still young, just 41, so I hope in the future I could be able to train there and enjoy that.”

Guardiola was speaking to the FA as part of the organisation’s 150th anniversary celebrations.

“I would like to say congratulations and happy birthday for the 150 years to English soccer and all of the people around English football,” he said.

“Enjoy it, because you deserve that and you have been very important in the development of our beautiful, beautiful game.”
