Predicted Watford Line-up To Face Burnley In The Premier League

Watford will look to go a rung up higher in the Premier League standings when they take on Burnley at the Turf Moor on Saturday.

The Hornets currently occupy 8th place in the table, three points behind their Saturday’s opponents who are placed 7th. A win with a three-goal margin or better could see them move above the Clarets, which would what manager Marco Silva be targetting, after their impressive 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

Team News

Midfielder Will Hughes is a major doubt for the Hornets due to a hamstring injury, while there are question marks over the availability of defenders Miguel Britos and Kiko Femenia. Isaac Success, Younes Kaboul, Craig Cathcart, Nathaniel Chalobah and Tommy Hoban are all ruled out.

Here’s how Marco Silva might set his team out against Sean Dyche’s side:

Manager: Marco Silva

Formation: 3-4-2-1

Heurelho Gomes (GK)

The Brazilian shot-stopper will start the game between the sticks for the Hornets just like he does week in week out.

Adrian Mariappa (CB)

The former Crystal Palace man should once again take the field in the three-man backline for Watford, given the number of injuries.

Sebastian Prodl (CB)

The Austrian will take his place in the middle of the three-man defence and look to keep a tight lid on the physical threat posed by Chris Wood.

Christian Kabasele

Christian Kabasele (CB)

The Belgian will be high in confidence having scored a goal against Spurs this past weekend. Will look to put in another strong display.

Daryl Janmaat (RWB)

With Kiko Femenia a big doubt ahead of the game, Dutchman Daryl Janmaat could get the nod at right wing-back on Saturday.

Abdoulaye Doucoure (CM)

The Frenchman has been one of Watford’s best players this season and is a definite starter week in week out when fit and available.

Tom Cleverley (CM)

The former Manchester United and Everton midfielder has been putting in strong displays in the middle of the park alongside Doucoure. Should get another start.

Marvin Zeegelaar (LWB)

The summer signing has been extremely impressive with his attacking intent in the past couple of games. Should retain his place ahead of Jose Holebas on the left-hand side.

Richarlison

Roberto Pereyra (RAM)

With Will Hughes likely to be unavailable for the clash, former Juventus man Roberto Pereyra could make his second consecutive start on Saturday.

Richarlison (LAM)

One of the hottest prospects in the Premier League right now, the sensational Richarlison will look to continue capturing everyone’s imaginations with yet another brilliant display.

Andre Gray (ST)

Leading the line against his former side should be Watford’s club record signing Andre Gray. The 26-year old has scored just twice for his new club and will look to add to that on Saturday.
