Romelu Lukaku has attracted interest from many clubs courtesy his form this season with Everton. The player is supposedly being looked out for by Manchester United and Chelsea is always there in the background.
While Lukaku if he did move to Manchester United will be reuniting with Manager Jose Mourinho, who is set to replace Louis Van Gaal come next season and who also criticized the player during his time at Stamford Bridge.
Lukaku, however, does take the reunion with maturity as he stated that when he was at Chelsea he was just 20 and was not ready to play in the first team for one of the top clubs, however being 23 he has gained more experience after some very good seasons at Everton. The player has scored 25 goals in 37 matches for Everton.
When asked by Derniere Heure about the possibility of a return to Chelsea, Lukaku replied: “No, absolutely not. The page is turned on both sides.
“When I was little, (Bayern and United) were two teams that impressed me by their offensive force.
“We’ll see what will happen. Anyway, it is always nice to be linked with such clubs, this is proof that they watch me. The rest is the business of my manager.”
“Some people will say that I need to convince him (Mourinho) but it’s not a question of that. Three years ago I was 20 and I wasn’t ready to be immediately effective in a top team.
“Several good seasons, including the current one, have changed the situation. I’ll be 23 (in May) and I could leave this summer.”
Further Lukaku is looking for a Chmapions League club next season, this in some ways make it more likely that he will not be choosing Chelsea over United.
