Three Replacements For Wayne Rooney Who Manchester United Can Target

Manchester United have a busy summer ahead of them as Jose Mourinho is planning a number of world class additions to his squad. The manager is looking to improve almost every position in the squad at Old Trafford and has been linked with some of the biggest stars in Europe.

However, he is almost sure to let go of one Wayne Rooney. The highest goal getter in Manchester United’s history, the skipper is one of the best players of his generation, but at 31, he is not in the plans of the manager and is looking for an exit. He has been linked with the likes of Everton and West Ham United, and Manchester United should start looking for replacements. Here are three such players who can replace Wayne Rooney at Manchester United:

Paulo Dybala (Juventus)

The Argentine hitman is easily one of the most exciting stars in Europe at the moment. He has helped Juventus to yet another Serie A title and has also pushed them into the Champions League, standing as one of the most creative players in the country. He has recently signed a lucrative long-term contract with his current club but Manchester United should try and enquire about his availability. At just 23-years of age, he would be the perfect long-term replacement for Wayne Rooney.

Andrea Belotti (Torino):

The Italian striker has been in sensational form in Serie A this season, bagging 27 goals and 6 assists in all competitions. He is one of the most exciting youngsters in world football and has constantly been linked with an exit. Chelsea are interested in his signature but Manchester United will be tempted to splash the cash and break the transfer record to sign the 23-year old who has been prolific in front of goal.

Kylian Mbappe (AS Monaco):

Mbappe is easily the best young attacker in Europe. He has had a sensational season with the French side, helping them to their first league title in 17 years and also took them to the semi-final of the Champions League. He has 26 goals and 14 assists in all competitions this season and at just 18-years of age, he is a prodigy in front of goal. He may take his time to adjust to the English league but is surely a player who will come good in the future and carry the mantle for decades to come.
