I really don’t want to be all doom and gloom about Norwich City at all, but fans of all clubs stuck in the Championship need to prepare for a tough life.
Worst case scenario for the Canaries – Daniel Farke as a head coach doesn’t work and Dorrans and Naismith go to Rangers. Sounds awful, doesn’t it? A player who could rejuvenate the Canaries’ midfield is Liverpool man Kevin Stewart. Having come through the ranks at the famed academy in Crewe, Liverpool won a battle against Tottenham for his signature but has been limited to just 11 Premier League appearances at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp appears unlikely to offer Stewart too much in the way of first team action next season, now that the league title and a tilt at the Champions League are on the agenda. So Stewart will become available. Given that there is not a queue of top division clubs willing to take a chance on the 23-year-old who is undoubtedly talented, Norwich could land him for not much of a fee.
