It is fair to say Tottenham have been out of sorts this season. They might be the only unbeaten team in the league, but their position of 5^th place doesn’t necessarily make for good reading. At least this might have led them to believe that things could be different this time around. But that hasn’t been the case as they have often failed to get the best mixture of defensive solidarity and attacking impetus.

Tottenham have lacked in attack severely. Heung-Min Son started the season with a flurry of goals but his purple patch in front of goal ended soon. Vincent Janssen was brought in from Dutch football to aid and support Harry Kane, but the Dutchman looks far from cutting it out in a top league. Kane has been injured for large parts and that shows in the Tottenham team, who have their premier marksman to thank for the 4 points they have taken in the last two games. Kane scored 2 late goals in the win against West Ham and also got the equaliser in the North London Derby which ended 1-1.

Under such circumstances, it is only natural that Spurs will now be targeting a few recruitments in the attacking category. Such a search has taken them to Malaga, where former Barcelona frontman Sandro Ramirez currently plies his trade. The Spaniard has been long linked with a move to Tottenham, but the presence of a high release clause in his contract with Barcelona always hindered any possible deal.

But now that he has moved to Malaga, Tottenham could get their man. Having moved to Malaga last summer after his contract with Barcelona expired, Sandro has impressed at his new club and already has 5 goals to his name in the league this season. Such form has seen him rise up in Tottenham’s eyes again and they could be lingering around with an intention to purchase him from Malaga on the cheap.

Since he moved to Malaga on a free transfer, it has been said that his release clause could be quite a low amount and given how calculative Daniel Levy has been in the past with signings, this could be a shrewd deal that suits all the parties involved.

Why Sandro is perfect for Tottenham

Sandro Ramirez is equally content playing up front or as a wide attacker from the wings and the kind of set-up Poch has established at Tottenham would certainly give him the freedom the express himself. Tottenham are filled with players such as Dembele, Eriksen and even Kane, who can all create chances for their fellow teammates. Sandro would certainly flourish in such an environment and provide the much needed attacking impetus that Spurs have been lacking in the initial stages of the season so far.

How Spurs’ line-up might look once he signs

Pochettino has shown that he is unafraid to line up with two strikers as he has done at times with Janssen and Kane this season. Adding Sandro to that mix would be quite a mouth-watering prospect for Spurs’ fans. Sandro possesses qualities that no other Spurs attacker currently does. He is pacy, can run behind defenders and has real skill on the ball. Along with all this, he also has the ability to time his runs into the box to perfection to get on the end of things and score goals.
