Forget Vardy: Why This Spanish Goal Poacher Would Suit Arsenal Instantly

Premier league giants Arsenal have so far failed in their attempts to sign Spain international Alvaro Morata, as Arsene Wenger looks to add more quality attacking options to his current squad this summer. The Gunners ended a trophyless last season once again, after their strikers failed to score goals when it mattered the most and the French manager is now out to rectify that problem.

For that purpose, the north London outfit had short-listed a lot of players which they wanted to sign, though no deals for any forwards have been completed so far.

However, yet again it seems that the club’s fierce rivals Chelsea might steal the Real Madrid man away now, as per recent claims with an amount of £29m being prepared to try and push the deal through.

Antonio Conte will be arriving at the club soon and will want to ensure that his team is time has the right balance, for which he will need some summer additions.

Now the question remains, whether or not Wenger should try and push through a deal for the 23 year old Morata or not. Will the player be able to fit into his squad at the Emirates?

Well, though the answer is a clear yes, the problem is that the Arsenal boss needs a renowned world-class goalscorer. Olivier Giroud did bulk of the scoring last term, though he eventually could not help them win a title. Apart from that, Theo Walcott was inconsistent and Danny Welbeck had injury problems, which made their presence negligible.

The Spaniard made 47 appearances for Serie A champions Juventus in all competitions in the previous campaign, scoring 12 goals and 9 assists to his name. He was also impressive in the Euro 2016 tournament, where he played four games, scoring thrice.

Though his stats for the national side look better, he is not the kind of player who has a big goal tally in the league competition and also does the role of a play-maker. His nine assists are proof of that and his passing and dribbling abilities can surely benefit any team.

Also, he does fall back when needed and do his defensive duties as well. All these qualities will surely make him a hit for Arsenal, if Wenger does pull off a deal, though the question still remains does the club need a proper finisher or a Morata kind of player.

Despite all the plus points his finishing is not the best, which could be a problem for Wenger, whose top priority is getting more goals out of his players. Due to this, though Morata will settle in rather easily into the Arsenal style of play, he might not really be the kind of attacking option that Wenger actually needs.
