Forget Toni Kroos, Manchester United Must Look Into These Super Alternatives

Toni Kroos alternatives at Manchester United

Despite the very interest from Manchester United, it wouldn’t at all be a surprise if David Moyes ultimately fails to land Toni Kroos in the summer from Bayern Munich. The 24 year old is currently unwilling to extend his contract at the Bvarian club but with the quality he possesses, Bayern would do anything possible to extend his contract to keep him at the Allianz Arena. Kroos, would attract a lot of suitors but United must be well aware of last summer when their relentless pursuit for Cesc Fabregas, Thiago Alcantara and Ander Herrera ultimately proved futile at the end. So we here at Soccersouls decided to provide David Moyes  three backup options if the Scot fails to land Kroos at Old Trafford.

1. Ikay Gundogan:

Ilkay Gundogan

A brilliant deep lying playmaker and another German, Gundogan has also been linked to Manchester United by a majority of tabloids. With sublime quality on the ball and graceful poise, Gundogan can create from anywhere in midfield and is one of the major driving force in Dortmund’s enviable midfield. Even though injuries have ruled him out of the season completely, it is believed that Moyes will use another former Dortmund man, Shinji Kagawa, who has failed to make a mark at Old Trafford, as bait to land the 23 year old German.

2. Miralem Pjanic:

Another option which will suit the Red Devils is Roma’s Miralem Pjanic. Roma under Rudi Garcia have had a terrific season in the Serie A, currently second in the league in their quest for an automatic Champions League spot. His passing range and the ability to look for killer passes are few of his many strengths. He is probably the free flowing midfielder that United need beside Micheal Carrick in the middle of the park. Pjanic would have no problems linking up with Mata, Januzaj and Rooney up front, but no mistake he would cost quite a fiscal ramification. Moreover Pjanic is also adept at set-pieces which makes him worth the splurge of cash.

3. Claudio Marchisio:

Marchisio

Juventus have more or less wrapped up the Serie A title and look relentless to continue their run at the top of the table. However the superb performances in the middle of the park from Vidal and Paul Pogba has meant Claudio Marchisio playing only a handful of games for the Old Lady. The Italian has that dazzling ability on the ball, having the effectiveness of the barging runs up front and also creating passes for his team mates, directing the play from the back. The 28 year old will also attract a lot of clubs all across Europe despite his age, 28, and he would be no short of suitors when it comes to having a player of his quality in the middle of the park. Marchisio would cost quite a  lot if he ultimately decides to leave Turin, but as his quality suggests, he would be worth a load of cash.
