Three Alternatives For Antoine Griezmann Who Manchester United Can Target

Manchester United are sure to have a tough summer as they are trying to lure some of the best talents in world football to the club. Though the qualification to the Champions League is sure to help them in their pursuit, they will have to work really hard to convince top players to quit their current clubs this summer.

It is not always going to be easy, as they may have learnt from the Antoine Griezmann saga. The Atletico Madrid man was believed to leave the La Liga outfit but with Atletico Madrid’s appeal against a transfer ban now rejected, the French star might not be up for sale. But that is not the end of the world for United as they will now be ready to splash the cash on some of the best players around. Here are three strikers Mourinho should target in place of Griezmann.

Andrea Belotti (Torino)

The Italian sensation was one of the most prolific goal scorers in the recently concluded season. He finished with 28 goals and 8 assists to his name and was one of the major reasons for Torino’s good form in Italy. He is contracted to the club until 2021 but has been constantly linked with an exit, with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea fighting for him. The Blues will give some tough competition for this transfer, but United, who are now desperate, will surely do all they can to land him this summer, especially if they miss out on Griezmann.

Edinson Cavani (PSG)

The Uruguay hitman will consider himself unlucky as after a superb season for PSG, as the French club decided to spend big on another striker in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The Gabon international has agreed to a move to the Ligue1 outfit which will push Cavani down the pecking order. This might see him be put up for sale as well and Manchester United, who are long-term admirers should surely have a look at him. His current contract comes to an end in 2020 and he will be a cheaper alternative to Belotti.

Romelu Lukaku (Everton)

The Everton hitman has been one of the most prolific goal scorers in the country for some time now but he has revealed that he wants to quit Everton before the start of next season. Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in the £100million star but with Diego Costa staying put, Chelsea might not need Lukaku in their ranks, giving United a free road to pounce on him. He will not come in on the cheap but is definitely worth the money, thanks to his experience in the Premier League.
