Three Alternatives For Philippe Coutinho Who Barcelona Can Target

Barcelona are a club in deep trouble at the moment as even they are yet to find a replacement for their departed superstar Neymar Jr (who joined PSG in an astonishing deal earlier this month), even with less than ten days left in the transfer market. The Brazilian has left a huge hole at Camp Nou, which Barcelona are desperate to fill, but are just unable to do so.

They are looking at Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho as the first option to replace Neymar but his current club Liverpool are not ready to sell him at any price. Though the player has handed in a transfer request, the club rejected a £118m bid for him recently and do not seem ready to give in. So it is better for Ernesto Valverde to start looking for alternatives and here are three players he should definitely look at, if they are unable to land Coutinho:

Julian Draxler (PSG)

The German playmaker has suddenly turned into the hottest property in the transfer market and has walked into many transfer wish lists late this summer. Having spent on Neymar Jr, PSG are ready to offload him this summer and there is no reason why he cannot be a hit at Camp Nou. He has now played in two different top-flight leagues in Europe and will be a decent addition for Barcelona, coming in at just around £32m, leaving enough funds for the La Liga giants to spend on other resources.

Paulo Dybala (Juventus)

With time running out, Barcelona should not start pressing hard on potential transfer targets and Argentine star Dybala should be considered as an option. He has recently spoken about Barcelona but he seems settled in Turin at the moment. However, if Barcelona are to replace Neymar completely, they must start showing some desire and spend big in the transfer market. Dybala will not be available for cheap but a concrete offer with a chance to play at Camp Nou should be enough to lure him out of Italy this summer.

Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur)

The least feasible option on the list for Barcelona is English superstar, Dele Alli. Destined for greatness, the youngster is easily one of the best youngsters in world football at the moment. Though he is settled with Spurs, the club might not be able to fend of genuine interest from a club like Barcelona. Playing alongside Lionel Messi, challenging for the Champions League is a dream for any player and Alli might just be given a chance to do the same. But he will surely cost a fortune, especially this late in the transfer market.
