Three Replacements For Claude Puel Who Southampton Can Consider

The English Premier League is known to be one of the most extremely competitive leagues in Europe and to stay afloat in the English top-tier, clubs do not hesitate to take extreme actions against their managers. Southampton is one such club that has seen a constant change in management for a couple of years and have now let go of Frenchman, Claude Puel who could not manage to keep his job despite beating the likes of Liverpool to reach the finals of the EFL Cup last season.

In the past, Southampton have appointed some impressive names when it comes to football management including the likes of Nigel Adkins, Mauricio Pochettino, and Ronald Koeman. With the club aiming for European qualification this season, the replacement for Claude Puel must be of utmost quality and there are plenty of established managers in the market who can take up the big job at St.Mary’s. Let’s take a look at three such candidates who could be the next manager of Southampton FC.

Thomas Tuchel

Having let go off by Borussia Dortmund last month, the 43-year-old German manager has been on the lookout for a new job this season. Tuchel is already being reported to be one of the favourites to land the job. With an impressive win percentage of 61% in his two seasons at Dortmund, Saints fans can be assured of a lot more wins along with some exciting brand of football next season.

Frank De Boer

The 47-year-old Dutchman has enough experience in his hands having managed European giants like, Ajax FC and FC Barcelona in the past. De Boer enjoyed incredible success in Eredivisie having won 4 League titles in a row. De Boer also took the Netherlands national team all the way to the finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup as assistant manager. The Dutchman can surely bring a lot flair to the Premier League as the manager of Southampton.

Sean Dyche

Although he hasn’t showed any signs of leaving Turf Moor anytime soon, Sean Dyche certainly deserves the opportunity to manage a club with a lot more financial and squad strength. The 45-year-old Englishman had an impressive record in the Premier League last season having taken points off big teams like Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Everton, as well as Southampton. Dyche would certainly be hoping to test his managerial skills at a bigger club like Southampton.
