Burnley have had a strong return to the Premier League. While most of us tipped them to face the drop back to the EFL Championship, the Clarets have managed to survive in the top-flight and quite comfortably so.

However, they could lose a few key members of the squad as the big clubs come circling following some eye-catching displays. One of those important players who could be headed out of the Turf Moor in the summer is striker Andre Gray. The 25-year old Englishman has been a vital part of the Burnley team over the past two years, having helped them achieve promotion and played a crucial hand in maintaining their Premier League status.

His displays seem to have caught the attention of several big clubs as Tottenham Hotspur and Everton have expressed an interest in his services, along with the newly promoted Newcastle United as well. So it looks increasingly likely that Gray will be leaving in the summer for greener pastures. In case it happens, here are three ideal replacements that the Clarets can look to sign.

Jonathan Kodjia

The 27-year old Aston Villa striker is someone who the Clarets should be looking at, considering that Villa is set for another season in the Championship.

Kodjia finished the season with 19 goals and 2 assists in the EFL Championship, in the process ending up as the 6th highest scorer in the division. Despite the club’s overall poor plight, the Ivory Coast international has managed to shine through with some strong displays up top. A good dribbler and an even better finisher, he will bring a lot to the team with his versatility as well, as he has shown he can play out on the wings too.

Burnley signed two players from Villa in January – Ashley Westwood and Robbie Brady and a good offer may well get them a third signing from the club.

Danny Ings

The 24-year old former Burnley man hasn’t been able to get his career going since his big move to Liverpool two summers back. Injury issues haven’t really allowed Ings to prosper as he has made just 9 appearances for the Reds in two years.

The 27-year old Southampton striker finds himself way down the pecking order at St. Mary’s behind the likes of Manolo Gabbiadini, Shane Long, and Charlie Austin and may consider a move.

Rodriguez started off at Burnley before moving to Southampton in the summer of 2012 and has scored 35 goals for the Saints in over 120 appearances. This season, he managed 6 strikes and 3 assists across all competitions. A proven goal-scorer in the Premier League stages and with his best years still ahead of him, the Clarets should consider signing their former striker back.
