Forget Abel Hernandez – Here are 2 class attackers Leeds could sign including £6.5m goal machine

According to reports, Leeds United are interested in signing Abel Hernandez this summer. The Uruguayan striker, who only confirmed his departure from Hull City earlier this month, has been heavily linked with a move to Leeds United.

Leeds definitely need reinforcements up front but their chase for Hernandez has become a bit complicated with Celtic and Genoa also entering the race to sign the striker.

With that in mind, new Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa must chalk out alternative targets, should he fail to land Hernandez. Here are two players the Yorkshire giants should target.

Marvin Ducksch (St.Pauli)

The St.Pauli striker spent the last campaign on loan at 2.Bundesliga outfit Holstein Kiel. The 24-year-old enjoyed the best season of his career last term as he scored 18 goals in 33 league games to finish as the division’s top goalscorer. An instinctive finisher, Ducksch showed his talent and potential in the 2017/18 campaign.

Standing at 6ft 3in, Ducksch could provide Leeds with a physical presence up front, which would make them a much more potent threat going forward. Due to his rich goalscoring exploits, the German could be worth taking a punt on.

Jack Marriott (Peterborough)

Marriott has turned into one of the hottest properties outside the Premier League after scoring a truckload of goals for League One club Peterborough last term.

Peterborough are demanding an eye-watering £6.5m for their star striker after a stunning season at London Road.

Jack Marriott

It is a lot of money for a striker, who was playing in League Two with Luton Town just over a year ago. But Leeds must take a gamble on Marriott, who scored 33 goals and provided 5 assists in 56 appearances in all competitions last season.

Apart from his clinical finishing, the 23-year-old’s extraordinary work-rate and tireless approach are also worth mentioning.

Leeds struggled for goals for the majority of the 2017/18 campaign, and new Whites boss Bielsa must target Marriott at any cost to solve the problem. Marriott certainly fits the criteria at Elland Road even if he lacks the experience of playing in the Championship.
