Following Martinez, These Three Youngsters Could Break Into Arsenal’s First Team Next Season

Share

With just 15 matches gone in the Premier League this season it is fair to say that things have not gone according to the plan for Arsenal. Things look very much in disarray and if it was not for Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal’s season would be looking a whole lot worse than what it is right now. However, if there is one thing which has been steady at the North London club, it is how the youth have impressed yet again when given the chance. Damian Martinez has been fabulous in the absence of Wojciech Szczesny in goal while Hector Bellerin, while a bit overrun in the last match, definitely has a future at the club. So here at Soccersouls, we try to take a look at the possible 3 youngsters who can break into the Arsenal first team next season.

Dan Crowley:

It is indeed hard to believe that Dan Crowley is just 16 and we are already talking of him being given a chance in the first team next season. However, that shows exactly how good Crowley is. Although too young to be given a chance this season, most believe that we will definitely see him in action in the League Cup next season and possibly even the early rounds of the F.A. Cup.

An attacking midfielder who is often compared to Jack Wilshere for the similar playing style is definitely not ready to make the squad for the Premier League matches but is someone who will be a massive talent for the future. We have already witnessed a huge number of wonder goals from the midfielder in the reserve games over the past two seasons and it is just a matter of time that Crowley get his first start in the senior level.

Julio Pleguezuelo:

Another Barcelona player that Arsenal have managed to sign (poached if you are a fan of Barcelona). A youth international for Spain, there cannot be any doubting his talent as a centre back. Given Arsenal’s injury crisis there was even a talk of this 17 year old being used as a defensive cover on the bench. A massive talent who might very well be pushed on to the deep end next season, he is already being touted as being one of the most technical centre back the club has ever seen. Definitely a player, we will see in the League cup and maybe the F.A. Cup next season. Who knows, if Arsene Wenger follows the current trend of not buying any centre backs, we might just see him in the Premier League as well.

Chris Willock:

Another 16 year old and maybe pushing him to play in the first team squad (even if it is just in the League Cup) will be too much to ask but given Arsene Wenger’s trust in Willock it does not seem at all impossible. A winger, he was given a run out against Boreham Wood for 45 minutes after Arsene Wenger himself took interest.

Arsene Wenger later on had this to say about the incident, “He’s a very young boy and I wanted him to have a run out with the big boys to see how much he has to do. But technically and tactically he integrated very well. Of course it’s natural that he lacks a bit of power at that age but when he gets that he will be a very interesting player.”

Chris Willock may just be the surprise package that takes his game to a new dimension next season.
