Five Players Who Need To Step Up Their Game Including Chelsea And Manchester United Stars

Share

The most exciting League in the world, Premier League has started with twists and unpredictability. Six games have finished but there is still a long way to go. Some of the big sides are not having a good time, but some small sides are dominating the league. The big guns have not been able to win matches because their key players have not been able to find their form. We look at five players who are yet to find their form and is key to their teams.

5. Sergio Aguero:

Manchester City is dominating the premier league now, but they will look much better if Aguero can put on his goal scoring boots. Last season’s golden boot winner has only scored 1 and assisted one goal in 5 starts for Manchester City. The Citizens has scored a total of 12 goals this season and he has been involved only in two of them. If Manchester City needs to dominate against other big sides in the premier league and also in the champions league, Aguero will have to find his form.

4. Harry Kane:

Harry Kane was Tottenham’s best player last season, but this season he has not been able to find his form. Spurs has only scored 5 goals this season and Kane has not been involved in any one of them. He has started all the six matches for Spurs this season. If Spurs needs to keep their European dream alive, Kane has to find his form and rattle the nets. The Englishman scored 21 goals last season.

3. James Milner:

Liverpool’s new vice captain came from Manchester City for free with lot of expectations. The experienced mid fielder was expected to strengthen the Liverpool squad and fill the gap left by Liverpool’s former captain Steven Gerrard, but he has not been able to find his form at Liverpool. Even though the 29-year old is the player who has covered most distance in the premier league, he has not been able to turn his efforts into goals or assists. Now that Henderson is out due to a broken bone in his leg, Milner is handed the armband and he will have to find his mojo back.

2. Diego Costa:

Costa is struggling along with his team. The Chelsea frontman has scored only 1 goal and assisted 1 in his 6 starts for Chelsea. Both of those came in Chelsea’s match vs West Brom, where they managed to somehow get 3 points (Chelsea won the match 3-2). Costa was involved in Gabriel Paulista’s(Arsenal) controversial sent off in the match between Chelsea and Arsenal. It was he who started the fight and he managed to buy a red card for Paulista. Chelsea won the match 2-0, however, Costa should turn his anger into goals if Chelsea needs to get back on track in the Premier League.

1. Wayne Rooney:

The current England and Manchester United captain has been criticized very much lately. He set record for England during the last International break, but he has not been able to find his form. Manchester United has scored a total of 6 goals in the 5 matches that Rooney has played in, but Rooney has not got a proper involvement in any of them. His poor shot against Tottenham led to an own goal by Walker in the first game of the premier league, that is his only contribution so far this season. There too he should have easily finished it, instead of depending on Walker.

There are many more players in the premier league who need to step up their performances in order to help their teams. No matter if the player’s are in form or not, premier league is always competitive. That is the speciality of the league.
