‘Fiery’ Kane: The Best And Worst Rated Tottenham Players Vs Stoke City

Share

Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham ran out 4-0 winners against a weak Stoke side with Harry Kane grabbing a hat-trick and Dele Alli scoring the fourth at White Hart Lane on Sunday. The win was crucial for Spurs who have endured a difficult recent few weeks and it was a clinical performance against a mid-table Stoke side. Here’s how the players fared against The Potters on Sunday.

Harry Kane scored an impressive hat-trick as Tottenham beat Stoke 4-0.

Tottenham Hotspur Player Ratings

Hugo Lloris 6/10- The Spurs goalkeeper looked a bit shaky with his handling but made a stunning save to not let Stoke back into the game. Had nothing much to do in the rest of the game.

Ben Davies 6/10- Was good and composed in defense after a nervy start. Progressed well in the game and dealt with threats lurking down his side.

Jan Vertonghen 7/10- Solid and commanding in central defence, organized all his troops well, played out good passes from the back and helped Spurs in keeping clean sheet by keeping Stoke attackers in control. Was unlucky as he hit the bar with one effort.

Toby Alderweireld 6/10- Was caught out on a few occasions but did a good sturdy job for the home team. Was an aerial threat during set-pieces. Was taken off due to a knock early in the first half.

Kyle Walker 8/10- Was energetic and lively throughout the game, bombing forward and whipping in dangerous crosses and shots. A solid performance at the back as well, whenever he was required to fall behind.

Victor Wanyama 7/10- Put on a good show in midfield covering up the back-line and finally looked like a Tottenham player. Was able to drive forward when there was space available. Linked up well with his other team-mates and put in important tackles in the centre of the pitch.

Dele Alli 8/10- Got his goal and looked lively all evening. Linked up well with Kane and made sure the three points were earned by his side. A very impressive attacking display mixed with his combative spirit.

Christian Eriksen 8/10- The midfielder looked a threat since the start of the game, with his skill, pace and power. He was too much to handle for the Stoke defence, claimed an assist for Kane’s second goal.

Eric Dier 6/10- Solid in midfield, controlled the tempo of the game. Sat deep and made a few good runs but looked off the pace when Stoke were attacking. Gave the ball away cheaply in good positions.

Moussa Dembele 7/10- The Belgian attacker was as fluent as ever, helping his side win the ball back and picking out good passes. Used his body frame well to guard the ball along with his skill to help in creating chances.

Harry Kane 9/10- Got his hat-trick with two clinical finishes and one lucky deflection but could have had many more but was stopped by the Stoke keeper. Did not put a foot wrong the whole game and Stoke were happy to see the back of him just before full time.

Substitutes-

Kevin Wimmer 6/10- Brought on to add defensive solidarity later in the second half and settled in well after replacing Alderweireld.

Harry Winks 6/10- Could have had a goal after coming on but his effort was blocked. Linked up well with other offensive players.

Son Heung-Min 6/10- Came on too late for Kane and couldn’t do much in the game.
