Fergie Escapes FA Charge : You Can Rant The Referee Throughout The Game But 1 Wrong Tweet And You Are In Trouble?

Share

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson escapes FA charge despite his persistent rant at officials during United’s 4-3 Win against Newcastle.

Surprised? Maybe not.

Ferguson was furious with Mike Dean after he overruled assistant Jake Collin and awarded Newcastle’s second goal.

Ferguson was seen to approach Dean as he made his way out for the second half. The Manchester United manager also rounded on fourth official Neil Swarbrick before arguing with assistant Collin.

First talking point of the match was when Mike Dean decided not to  send Ferguson off during the match despite his aggressive reaction to the referee and his linesman. This is a clear indication that nothing against the rules had taken place.

What is even more surprising is that FA have stated that they received no complaint from referee Mike Dean over Sir Alex Ferguson’s conduct against Newcastle.

FA rules do not allow managers to question the integrity of officials. Ferguson was banned for two-games after branding Alan Wiley ‘unfit’ following a game in 2010.

Manchester United though won the thriller when Javi Hernandez scored a late winner in the 91st minute.
