Arsenal Transfer News

It is difficult to say if Mundo Deportivo are widely speculating or if they really believe what they are reporting regarding the Nolito’s transfer. After various different news, now they have reported that Arsenal are set to sign Nolito in the January transfer window. It is strange, considering that the newspaper is Catalan and it was reported earlier that Barcelona and player both were keen on this move.

The reason, Mundo Deportivo has explained, is Barcelona’s liquidity problems. Nolito’s current buyout clause is €18m and Barcelona seem to be reluctant to meet that. The newspaper however, thinks that meeting that release clause is not a problem for Arsenal as the amount is not really that big for a premier league outfit. It is also reported that Arsenal has already began a talk with the player. Upon receiving his consent they would simply activate the release clause and complete the transfer.

Further, Mundo Deportivo sounded a little upset when they thought it will be ironic if a goal from the winger would eliminate Barcelona from the Champions League. Arsenal and Barcelona are set to meet at the Champions League knockout stage.
