Fantastic Gray, Fabulous Mahrez: The Best And The Worst Rated Leicester City Players From Their 1-0 Win Over Burnley

Share

Leicester City registered two wins in two games this week, when they defeated Burnley 1-0 at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, in the Premier League.

A first half goal from Demarai Gray was enough for the Foxes to take three points away from the game, as they continued their revival under new manager Claude Puel. The former Birmingham man showed great bravery to react to a spill from the Clarets’ stopper Nick Pope to find the back of the net in the 6th minute.

The win meant Leicester broke into the top ten of the league standings, taking the ninth place with 20 points after 15 games.

And here’s how the Foxes’ stars fared on the day;

Leicester Player Ratings

Kasper Schmeichel – 7/10

Made good stops to deny Chris Wood and Johann Berg Gudmundsson to keep the clean sheet intact at home.

Danny Simpson – 7/10

Was solid as usual in his defensive duties and also looked to get forward when an opportunity presented itself.

Wes Morgan – 7/10

Involved in a battle with Wood, the captain did well to keep his former teammate under the wraps for large parts of the game.

Harry Maguire – 7/10

Came unscathed out of a dangerous challenge from Robbie Brady. Was steady at the back, playing his role in effecting the shutout.

Ben Chilwell – 7/10

Wasn’t as effective going forward as he was during the midweek, but played a solid hand at the back to protect the lead.

Vicente Iborra – 7/10

Wasn’t as influential as he was in the win over Tottenham earlier this week, but did his part to keep Burnley at bay for most of the game.

Wilfred Ndidi – 7/10

Another combative display from the youngster. Strong in tackles, most of which he won, and used the ball well too.

Marc Albrighton – 7.5/10

As usual no lack of effort and commitment from the former Aston Villa man and it was an effective performance.

Riyad Mahrez – 8.5/10

The Foxes’ threat going forward, it was the Algerian’s shot that led to Gray’s opener. Caused all sorts of troubles when he got the ball.

Demarai Gray – 8/10

Showed great courage and willingness to pounce on the rebound to score the only goal of the game. Unlucky to have hit the woodwork after the break.

Jamie Vardy – 7.5/10

Gave the Burnley defensive duo of James Tarkowski and Ben Mee a lot to think about with his movement and physicality.

Substitutes

Shinji Okazaki – N/A

Replaced Gray in the 88th minute.
