Full Time: Bournemouth 0-0 Leicester City

Leicester City came away with a vital point against Bournemouth, after playing out a 0-0 draw at the Vitality Stadium, in game-week 7 of the Premier League, on Saturday.

The game was largely dominated by the Cherries, with Jermain Defoe striking the crossbar as early as the second minute and a penalty shout going unanswered in the first-half. Junior Stanislas saw an effort saved before the Foxes had a chance to complete a smash and grab. However, Shinji Okazaki fired wide, when he had just Asmir Begovic to beat.

Here’s how the Leicester players performed on the day:

Leicester City Player Ratings

Kasper Schmeichel – 7/10

Made a number of saves and was alert to danger each time the Cherries threatened his goal. Deserved his clean sheet.

Danny Simpson – 6/10

Was lucky to get away after handling a goal-bound effort from Marc Pugh in the first period. Other than that, he was his usual solid self.

Wes Morgan – 7/10

The captain put in a real shift at the back, standing tall against whatever Eddie Howe’s side threw at him. Solid.

Harry Maguire – 6.5/10

There were a few moments when he was exposed, but did well to earn his team a shut-out and an important point.

Christian Fuchs – 7.5/10

The brightest of the lot for the Foxes. The Austrian got forward well from left-back, while not getting caught at the back. Read the game well and showed his experience.

Marc Albrighton – 6/10

Starting on the right flank in place of Riyad Mahrez, the former Aston Villa man was made to graft all game, which he did. Not much effect going forward.

Charlie Daniels (left) and Danny Simpson (right)

Wilfred Ndidi – 6/10

Battled hard in the middle of the park without much luck. Distribution too wasn’t really up to the mark on the day.

Andy King – 5.5/10

Was a part of the Leicester midfield that was overpowered by the Cherries in the first-half. Was taken off at the break.

Demarai Gray – 5/10

Displayed his bout of inconsistency throughout the game. Struggled to keep the ball at times, while having a few good moments when he moved into more central positions.

Shinji Okazaki – 5.5/10

Another player who worked his socks off, but could not offer a great deal of threat going forward. Had Leicester’s best chance after the break, but fired wide.

Jamie Vardy – 6/10

Worked really hard at the back, but to little results. Lacked the service he usually thrives upon.

Substitutes

Vicente Iborra – 6/10

On for King at half-time. Couldn’t stop Bournemouth from bossing the midfield.

Kelechi Iheanacho – 5/10

Replaced Okazaki in 69th minute. Struggled to make any impact.

Riyad Mahrez – N/A

Came on for Albrighton with 15 minutes left on the clock.
