Leeds secured their first win since Boxing day with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Brentford to get Paul Heckingbottom’s first win in charge of the Yorkshire club. Leeds looked like they hadn’t recovered from conceding in the last minute against Derby, however, they grew into the game and Liam Cooper headed their first chance in from an excellent free-kick delivery from Ezgjan Alioski. After that, they held on against a Brentford side who had a lot of possession and a lot of shots but were not able to convert any.
Dealt with the game very well, and will be proud of the clean sheet.
A great game from the defender. Kept himself very busy and ably supported his defensive partners.
Kept the Brentford attackers quiet and headed away everything that came his way.
A great game from Cooper. Scored a goal and was a rock at the heart of the Leeds defence.
A solid game but could have had more of an effect on the offensive side of the game.
Had a solid game. Had to do a lot of running off the ball and he protected his defence well.
Didn’t play last game but played well against Brentford. Could have joined the attack more but generally did well.
Delivered a beautiful assist for the goal and is a great player. He will be pleased with his afternoon’s work.
A very good performance on his return to the team. He is a classy player with some great touches.
Replaced by Sako late on but as always, he worked hard and put in a shift for his team.
Was his usual bustling self. Gave the Brentford defence a real work out.
Used his pace well and kept Brentford on the back foot. A good cameo.
Came on only for a few minutes but more minutes for a promising player.
Was only on for a few minutes. Didn’t make an impact.
