Fantastic Brown, Amazing Ntcham – The best and the worst rated Celtic players vs Rangers

Full-time: Celtic 4-0 Rangers

The scene was set for a fantastic Scottish Cup semi-final between the two biggest clubs in Scotland. An Old Firm derby in the cup was a mouth-watering prospect.

Unfortunately for Rangers fans, the game didn’t go quite to plan and they never really seemed to show up. 4-0 was actually quite flattering and it could’ve been a lot worse on the day.

Celtic, on the other hand, were fantastic and seemed to never really break a sweat as they walked into the final. A great day to be a Celtic fan

Celtic Player Ratings

Craig Gordon8/10

Gordon had an excellent game and always looked in command of both his area and of his defenders’. Didn’t have too much to do but when he did, he looked more than comfortable, highlighted by that patch of three saves in the second half.

Kieran Tierney8/10

Tierney had a good game in the left-back position and really challenged the Rangers defence down that side. Crossed the ball excellently and played well in the attack.

Dedryck Boyata – 7/10

Didn’t really have too much to do and passed the ball exceptionally well, allowing Celtic to create from the back.

Kristoffer Ajer7.5/10

Ajer was like a rock in the heart of the defence. Nothing got past him in the air and he also put in some good tackles.

Mikael Lustig7/10

Composed at the back apart from that one moment of madness where he nearly scored that own goal. Protected the right-hand side well.

Oliver Ntcham

Oliver Ntcham9.5/10

Looked like the best player on the pitch today and absolutely orchestrated the play in the midfield. His passing was brilliant and he finished the penalty excellently.

Scott Brown9.5/10

Just brilliant today. He was combative in a challenge, broke up the play well, passed the ball excellently. A complete midfield performance.

Callum McGregor9/10

Looked dangerous all game when running at the Rangers defence. His goal was top quality and his energy and pace added an extra dimension to the Celtic attack.

Tom Rogic8.5/10

An excellent performance from the attacking midfielder and his goal was right out of the top drawer. He has magic in his boots and can leave defenders standing still.

James Forrest – 7.5/10

Forrest also looked threatening down the right as he consistently attacked the Rangers defence. Should have probably scored in the second half.

Moussa Dembele

Moussa Dembele – 8/10

Looks a class above when he has a good game and today was one of those days. He finished his penalty so well and looked like the complete striker.

Substitutes

Scott Sinclair6.5/10

Came on to replace Rogic in the 61st minute and immediately looked dangerous. Unlucky not to have grabbed a goal late on.

Patrick Roberts – 7/10

Replaced Forrest in the 73rd minute and made an impact, winning the second penalty and allowing Ntcham to finish the game in style.

Leigh Griffiths6/10

Replaced Dembele in the 80th minute and was determined to get involved. Enjoyed every minute he was on the pitch but didn’t do too much.
