Everton are trying to make waves in Europe and will have to continue improving to make that a reality. The Toffees had been linked in the summer with a move for Bertrand Traore of Lyon, according to reports by the Liverpool Echo.
The Toffees have managed 7 points out of 4 games so far and must carry that belief into their next couple of games. However, they haven’t necessarily played really well in any game and still look poor defensively.
The Frenchman has experienced a taste of the Premier League before with Chelsea but never got the chance to prove himself during his short time at the club.
He had good time with Lyon last season but his contribution went under the radar because of his fellow teammates, who went on to earn some big moves to other clubs across Europe. He scored 7 goals and provided 3 assists.
Everton have a real need for someone to play on the left-wing. They had to deploy Richarlison on that wing in the last game, despite that not being his preferred position.
They already have Richarlison, Bernard and Alex Iwobi, all of whom are more comfortable on the right-wing and it’s important to have a balance. Traore, being a left-footer, will be the first name on the team-sheet if he was to be brought in.
The other big problem has been scoring goals centrally but with Moise Kean and Richarlison more than capable of playing in those positions, the future does look bright.
Traore’s stats aren’t all that impressive but he’s still very young and will have a coach who has shown that he can work with young players.
Marco Silva has improved the careers of some of the best upcoming players in the league like Andrew Robertson, Richarlison and Harry Maguire, meaning there are few better to learn from.
The Portuguese has also revived the careers of Lucas Digne and Andre Gomes, who look unrecognisable from the players that once plied their trade in Barcelona.

This would be a good move in a problematic position for the Toffees and would benefit all parties that are involved in this deal. Thus, Everton should’ve signed him.
