Dyche to make 1 important change – Strongest 4-4-2 Burnley line-up to face Fulham

Predicted Burnley line-up to face Fulham in the Premier League

Burnley seemed to have suffered from fatigue in the game against Watford last weekend which saw the Hornets thump the Clarets 3-1 at their own home. Sean Dyche’s men got past Turkish outfit Istanbul Basaksehir to progress to the final play-off round.

As the manager looks for a balance in his team, Burnley must put in a strong performance against Fulham this weekend to maintain confidence in the squad. The Clarets are currently lingering in 15th place after taking just 1 point from their opening two games.

Team News

Apart from long-term absentees Steven Defour and Nick Pope, Sean Dyche has a fully fit squad to pick from. New signing Matej Vydra will probably need another week before he can play as well. But given that Burnley have European commitments this season, the ginger Mourinho could tinker the lineup a little bit.

Probable Burnley XI

Manager: Sean Dyche

Formation: 4-4-2

Joe Hart (GK)

The former Manchester City shot-stopper seems determined to resurrect his career and will once again start in goal.

Matthew Lowton (RB)

Lowton boasts a 100% tackle percentage so far and will be aiming for a shutout against the newcomers.

James Tarkowski (CB)

The English defender scored the Clarets’ only goal last game and should be starting in central defence once again.

James Tarkowski

Ben Mee (CB)

It would be a surprising sight if Ben Mee gets dropped to the bench. He has been a vital cog at the backline for Sean Dyche.

Stephen Ward (LB)

Ward also boasts a 100% tackle success rate and 100% aerial duel success. A sure starter in Dyche’s XI.

Aaron Lennon (RM)

Lennon is yet to make an impact in the Premier League this season but his experience is second to none in the squad and Sean Dyche is going to need that.

Jack Cork

Jack Cork (RCM)

Cork is one of the first names on Sean Dyche’s teamsheets. His presence in the middle of the park is massive for the Clarets.

Ashley Westwood (LCM)

Westwood’s distribution is vital for both the attack and the defence. He possesses a wide range of passing ability.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson (LM)

The Icelandic midfielder picked up his first assist of the season and will once again be the main source of supply against the Cottagers.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson

Ashley Barnes (ST)

Barnes was handed a substitute appearance in the game against Watford last weekend. He should start in place of Jeff Hendrick against Fulham.

Chris Wood (ST)

Wood has failed to find the net so far but nevertheless, he poses a massive threat against any defence he faces.
