Predicted Burnley Line-up To Face West Bromwich Albion In The Premier League

Burnley will look to close the gap on sixth-placed Arsenal when they take on West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Saturday.

The Clarets are currently placed 7th in the Premier League table with 43 points from 30 games and are five points behind the Gunners. Manager Sean Dyche will be hoping to further reduce the distance between his team and Arsene Wenger’s side by winning against the Baggies who are set for relegation this season.

Probable Burnley XI

Manager: Sean Dyche

Formation: 4-4-1-1

Nick Pope (GK)

The Englishman has been brilliant between the sticks this season and will hope to continue his good form in order to stake a claim for a spot in England’s squad for the World Cup.

Matthew Lowton (RB)

At right-back, 28-year old Matthew Lowton is expected to start ahead of summer signing Phil Bardsley.

James Tarkowski (CB)

The defender was handed his England national team debut during the international break and will look to build on that with another strong performance for the club.

James Tarkowski

Ben Mee (CB)

The former Manchester City man has been exceptional this season alongside Tarkowski and will once again partner him on Saturday.

Stephen Ward (LB)

The 32-year old Republic of Ireland international will once again start at left-back for the Clarets ahead of summer signing Charlie Taylor.

Aaron Lennon (RW)

The right flank is likely to be occupied by Aaron Lennon. Has shown glimpses of form since arriving in January and will want to make an impact.

Jack Cork (CM)

The former Swansea City midfielder has grown into an integral part of this Burnley side since his summer move. Definite starter on Saturday.

Ashley Westwood (CM)

With Defour out for the season, the second central midfield slot will be occupied by former Aston Villa man Ashley Westwood.

Johann Berg Gudmundsson

Johann Berg Gudmundsson (LW)

The Icelandic international has been brilliant for the Clarets this term and will look to make a valuable contribution from the left flank.

Jeff Hendrick (SS)

The Irishman has been excelling in the role of the auxiliary forward this season and will once again find himself starting behind the main striker.

Chris Wood (ST)

The New Zealand international scored a brace in Burnley’s 3-0 win over West Ham United before the international break. Should get the nod ahead of Ashley Barnes.
