Dream Rangers Line-Up To Play Next Season Fitting In This 29-year Old New Signing

How Rangers Could Line Up With Daniel Candeias In The Side

Now that winger Daniel Candeias’ signing from Benfica has been confirmed, the potential Rangers line-up for next season changes again.

With Martyn Waghorn considered surplus to requirements at the end of last season, the club have moved swiftly to find an upgrade and Candeias’ arrival probably means some more bench time for former Leicester City man Joe Dodoo.

Candeias becomes the 5th Rangers signing of the summer. Great going Caixinha!

Possible Rangers XI:

GK – Liam Kelly

Now ready for Premiership football, Kelly will be given the chance to impress Caixinha over the pre-season period. But as of now, he is far from guaranteed to be Gers’ no.1.

RB – James Tavernier

The former Newcastle man needs to up his game now after an excellent season at Championship level. But he has not reached his peak yet and has plenty of potential.

CB – Bruno Alves

Adding experience to the Rangers back line, Alves is the perfect person to have around the likes of David Bates and will provide a conduit for Caixinha.

Bruno Alves

CB – Fabio Cardoso

The former Vitoria Setubal man has impressed in Portugal and should be more than good enough in this division.  An exciting signing.

LB – Lee Wallace

The skipper is likely to be an influential figure once more from left-back as the season progresses, with his attacking play every bit as important as his defensive nous.

CM – Ryan Jack

The ex-Aberdeen skipper needs to break into the Scotland squad and being here will help him achieve that. Jack could be a vital piece of Caixinha’s midfield puzzle.

CM – Carlos Pena

Another rock solid, no-nonsense midfielder to add steel to the line-up. Pena would bring a certain aggression to the team, which is much needed on last year’s evidence. He is a great player going forward.

RW – Daniel Candeias

The fact that he started 22 of his 29 appearances at Alanyaspor last season on the right tells us where he’ll play. A good addition to the squad.

CAM – Dalcio

The young attacker so far has 6 caps for Portugal’s under-21’s and is on a steep and steady upward curve. The left-footed 21-year-old could make a big impression.

LW – Barrie McKay

Although not breaking through in quite the spectacular fashion some fans had hoped last season, McKay remains a player with huge potential.

ST – Kenny Miller

The veteran can play here or in a deeper role. Either way, he did not let the club down last season and retains all of his ability except his pace, which has diminished over the years.
