Wolves v Manchester United Report – Manchester United Match Report

A lacklustre Manchester United have been dumped out of the FA Cup by Wolves with a scoreline of 2-1 at the Molineux. Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota were the scorers for the home team, who thoroughly deserved the victory and a path into the semi-finals.

In a slow-tempo first half, Nuno Espirito Santo’s men had the best chance when Jota went clean through on goal but Sergio Romero came off the line quickly to smother the attempt by the Portuguese.

Wolves eventually got the lead in the second half, 20 minutes from time, when Jimenez was in a tight corner in the United box. The Mexican managed to have a shot at goal which squirmed past Romero into the back of the net.

Six minutes later, from a United corner, the home side broke out and set Jota free, who went past a defender and slot his shot at bottom left corner to virtually seal the tie.

The Red Devils were pushing for goals later on in the game, however, all the passing moves were getting broke down as Wolves defended well and frustrated them.

Marcus Rashford eventually pulled one back, but it was in the 94th minute and there wasn’t enough time to get another shot at goal.

At the end of the day, a disappointing night for Manchester United, who were going well under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Two consecutive defeats have pegged them back a bit.

Here’s how their fans reacted after this game:
