Jose Mourinho has signed a deal with Manchester United according to Spanish newspaper El Pais. (via Daily Star) Mourinho has been out of work since he was sacked by Chelsea in December and this is not the first time that the manager has been on the news.
The Spanish newspaper further claims that Real Madrid had contacted the super agent Jorge Mendes and tried to sign the Portuguese manager to replace Zinedine Zidane. However Real’s attempt were put to dust when they discovered in late February that the Portuguese manager has already signed a pre-contract with Manchester United.
Not only that El Pais also stated that Mourinho will be charged a penalty by Manchester United if he disagrees to take charge of United.
It is obvious that the 53 year old manager is not enjoying his time out of football since December but he is pretty sure that he will be back in the premier league and managing at the start of the next season.
“No, I am not enjoying it. I can have everything I love at the same time,” he told GQ when asked if he was enjoying his time off.
“I can have my family, I can have my friends, I can have my quiet life, which I also like, and I can have my football… I can have everything together and I don’t need to give up on one of them.
“To be fully happy I need everything, so I go back to football. I think it’s my natural habitat. I have worked since I can remember, and as a manager since 2000.
“I stopped when I left Chelsea in 2007, for a few months, and now is the second time I stop in 15 or 16 years, so it is not a drama.
“But for sure, I will be back soon.”
According to Football Insider, Mourinho has signed a three-year contract with the club which will see him pocket £16m-a-year
