An approximately £7m deal has been signed for the Egyptian player Mohamed El-Nenny by Arsenal according to Egyptian football website King Fut.
The Egyptian player joined Basel FC in 2013 on loan from Arab Contractors, before signing a 4 year contract at the end of the season. The Egyptian has gone on to make 144 appearances in three seasons with the club (winning the league title in each season) and has renewed his contract till 2018.
The 23 year old has been signed by arsenal and the terms have been agreed on. The final step to seal the deal is the medical examination that will be happening in Paris on 29th of December, according to the King Fut. Following his medical the player will sign his contract with the Gunners on 30th December that’s Wednesday. Prior to the report from Egypt, BBC confirmed that Arsenal were in talks with the player last night, which left the Gooners with a sense of anticipation. According to BBC, Elneny would require a work permit and he is eligible to play in the Champions League after Basel failed to qualify for this year’s group stage.
Arsenal will reportedly pay £5m for the player which may rise to £7m, which is cheaper for the club compared to those who have been linked for the transfer so far.
