Do Chelsea Have A Plan-B? Have A Look At These 3 Players Who Can Fit The Bill

Share

The probable transfer of the England international Wayne Rooney to Stamford Bridge has been stalled for the time being as Manchester United have rejected the Blues’ second bid and seemed to have stuck to their original decision of not selling Rooney. Though nothing is absolute in the transfer window, still Mourinho and his higher officials at Stamford Bridge should start looking for an alternative sooner than later.

Here are three probable alternatives that Chelsea officials should look for.

Hulk:

Chelsea has been on the news when it comes to Hulk’s transfer news for quite sometime now. The 27-year old striker currently plays in Russian club Zenit St. Petersburg. The Brazilian has been in the Russian side for 12 months now after making a £48.4m switch from FC Porto which made him sit at the tenth place in the most expensive transfers list. However, the Brazilian has not been having a good time out there, managing only 11 goals in 30 appearances last season. And much to his worries, he had faced racial abuses from his club fans. In such a scenario, he is unlikely to stay at Zenit and Hulk is seeking for a transfer. A lucrative bid from Mourinho can land him at Stamford Bridge after rumours linking him with French side Monaco have also faded away.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic:

Don’t raise your eyebrows after reading this name. Yes, Ibrahimovic can be a possible target for the Portuguese manager. After failling to sign the coveted Uruguayan International Edinson Cavani who snubbed the Blues in favour of a move to Paris Saint Germain, Chelsea can now look for the other PSG forward Ibrahimovic. Reportedly, the 31-year old Swedish star is not pleased of Cavani’s arrival at the Parc Des Princes, as it seems to be a threat for his starting berth. Zlatan joined the Ligue 1 side form Milan in 2012 and helped them to win the league after 1994. He had a marvellous season with the French side scoring 35 goals and 11 assists in 46 appearances for them. But now the player is looking for a transfer and news surfaced that he was deliberating over a move to the Premier League. Now we have to see how Mourinho buckle up things.

Burak Yilmaz:

The 28-year old Turkish international has been ‘one of the sought after’player in the transfer window. Reportedly, Liverpool are also looking for the player if they have to sell of Luis Suarez. Currently plying his trade at Galatasaray, the forward is now at the pick of his form. He managed 32 goals in 39 appearances for the Galatasaray in 2012-2013. The 28-year-old was in even finer form the season prior, when he bagged 33 goals in an amazing 34 appearances for another Turkish club Trabzonspor. Much to Blues’ delightment, Galatasaray are willing to trade off the forward if a substantial bid comes to their way. Now it’s up to Mourinho to think about the bid as the transfer window deadline day will be closer with each passing day.
