Dier, Wimmer Starts – Predicted 4-2-3-1 Tottenham Line-up To Face Chelsea

Share

After a late brace from star striker Harry Kane that gave Spurs an incredible victory over the Hammers, Mauricio Pochettino’s side will be involved in yet another London derby this weekend as they travel to the Stamford Bridge to face the league leaders Chelsea. The Blues are yet to concede a goal in their last 6 games and will make it tough for Spurs to get anything from this game but if the visitors can ruffle Conte’s side early in the game, it can make for an interesting watch. A win in this game will take Spurs into the top-4 and having been eliminated from the Champions League in the midweek, they will have to turn their attention towards the domestic league.

Here is the lineup that Pochettino might field for this game against Chelsea:

Team News:

Pochettino has a number of injuries to key players in his squad ahead of this trip to Chelsea. Toby Alderweireld, Ben Davies and Erik Lamela are all ruled out of this short trip across the city. Left-back Danny Rose picked up his 5th yellow this season and will miss this game through suspension.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Hugo Lloris:

The French star has been one of the most consistent shot-stoppers in the league for some time now and he should keep his place in the side for this game.

Kyle Walker:

The English international has done a decent job for Spurs this season and he should keep his place on the wing for this trip to the Bridge.

Eric Dier:

The versatile Englishman has helped Pochettino with some solid performances as a centre-back in the absence of key player and he should keep his place in the side for this game.

Kevin Wimmer:

Injuries to key personnel in the squad has seen Wimmer get an extended run in the team and he should keep his place in the side for this game against Chelsea as a centre back.

Jan Vertonghen:

The marshal of the troops at the back for Spurs, Vertonghen is walking a tight rope in this game, standing just a yellow card away from suspension in the next game. And with both the left backs missing the fixture, the Belgian might see his position shift on the left flank.

Victor Wanyama:

The former Southampton midfielder has been terrific in front of the defence for the team this season and he will have to play an important role if the Spurs are to take anything from this game.

Mousa Dembele:

Though not at his best in the last few games, the Belgian midfielder is one of the most exciting players in the squad at the Lane and he should start this game in the midfield for the Spurs.

Christian Eriksen:

The first choice playmaker for the Spurs, Eriksen has also not been at his best this season but he should start this game against Chelsea at the weekend.

Dele Alli:

The English international has just not been able to help Spurs close games away but he should keep his place for this London derby.

Heung Min-Son:

The South Korean has not been in the best form recently but he should start this game against Chelsea on the wing to try and stretch the play for the Spurs.

Harry Kane:

After an impressive game against West Ham after a slow start, Kane was not able to keep the Spurs alive in the Champions League but he will have a huge role to play in this game against Chelsea at the weekend.
