Arsenal fans have been lamenting the lack of signing at the club and it would appear that Arsene Wenger is finally coming under some pressure to sign new players.
The club needs a new experienced defender with both Per Mertesacker and Gabriel injured and according to Metro news, the Gunners have begun the chase for Jose Fonte from Southampton. The 32-year-old defender is thought to be a target for Manchester United but with Arsenal’s Mustafi deal going nowhere, the club is thinking of moving for Fonte instead.
With two years remaining on his contract Jose Fonte is expected to cost around £10 million for any buyers and Arsenal, currently locked in negotiation for £30 million Mustafi, is probably looking to save some money in order to get Alexandre Lacazette. Arsenal fans are desperately waiting to see new signings and while would prefer Mustafi, some fans would even be alright with any signing at this point.
