Predicted Celtic Lineup To Face Aberdeen In Scottish Cup Final

The chance to complete a domestic treble beckons Celtic when they take on Aberdeen in the finals of the Scottish Cup on Saturday at the Hampden Park.

The Bhoys already have the Scottish League Cup and the Scottish Premiership title in the bag and a win on Saturday will see them complete a treble for the fourth time in the club’s history and for the first time since the 2000/01 season.

Celtic have been unbeaten in all domestic competitions this season and will be keen on finishing off the season that way. Brendan Rodgers’ side have an excellent record against The Dons this season, having won all the 5 games the two have clashed in – including the League Cup final in November last year.

Team News

Star striker Moussa Dembele will miss out due to a thigh injury he sustained in the semi-final win over Rangers back in April.

Probable Celtic Starting XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Brendan Rodgers

Craig Gordon (GK)

The 34-year old custodian has been immovable from the Celtic line-up this season and it is unlikely to change for the final game of the season.

Mikael Lustig (RB)

The Swede was rested for the previous 2 league games, with Rodgers picking Cristian Gamboa in his place. Expect Lustig to return for the finals.

Jozo Simunovic (CB)

Has been preferred ahead of Erik Sviatchenko since the turn of the year and has done a fine job. Should start against the Dons.

Kieran Tierney

Dedryck Boyata (CB)

Solid defensively and a huge goal threat at the other end, Boyata will partner Simunovic at the heart of the defence.

Kieran Tierney (LB)

The 19-year old left-back has had a sensational season. His forward forays from left-back will be a key element for Celtic on Saturday.

Scott Brown (CM)

The Bhoys will be led by captain Scott Brown. He will look to stamp his authority in the middle of the park and keep his team on the front-foot.

Stuart Armstrong (CM)

The 25-year old has been brilliant for Celtic this campaign and has managed to score 16 goals from a deep midfield position. Will be a crucial player in this game.

Patrick Roberts (RW)

In what could be his last game for the Bhoys, Roberts would love to sign off in style, delivering his team a trophy, before he leaves for Manchester City.

Callum McGregor (CAM)

Has really grown into prominence in the past few months, contributing with goals and assists. His movement in behind the striker can pose plenty of problems to the Dons.

Scott Sinclair (LW)

The club’s leading goalscorer of the season has been preserved for the finals, with Rodgers’ utilizing him minimally before this game. Can wreak havoc from the left-flank.

Leigh Griffiths (ST)

Has done exceptionally in Moussa Dembele’s absence and will be keen on continuing in a similar vein of form.
