Dembele And Wanyama To Start: Predicted 4-2-3-1 Tottenham Line-Up To Face Leicester City This Weekend

Share

From picking up just a point last weekend against Bournemouth to being knocked out from the League Cup round of 16 at Anfield, Tottenham Hotspur and Mauricio Pochettino had a week to forget leading into their home clash against the defending Premier League Champions. Claudio Ranieri’s men have failed to find any kind of consistency this season but are fresh from a victory over Crystal Palace last weekend. The changes that Pochettino made in for the League Cup will see him go with a full strength side for this game in search of all three points.

Here is the predicted lineup that Pochettino might field for this game against Leicester City:

Team News:

The home side will miss the services of Harry Kane who is a long-term absentee. Moussa Sissoko will serve the second game of his ban for violent conduct in the game against the Cherries. Toby Alderweireld is the only other player who is doubtful for this fixture, nursing an injury he picked up against the Baggies.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Hugo Lloris:

The first choice shot-stopper for Pochettino will be back in action this week after sitting out for the League Cup game at Anfield.

Kyle Walker:

The English defender has been superb this season for Spurs and should be a handful for the visitors at both ends of the field this weekend.

Eric Dier:

The England international was the only player who kept his place in the starting lineup for the game against Liverpool and he will have to start once against, this time as a part of the back-four for the Spurs.

Jan Vertonghen:

Taking the responsibility of the back line in Alderweireld’s absence, Vertonghen will have to be strong against the likes of Vardy and Musa to help his side to all three points from this game.

Danny Rose:

Coming back from injury, the English full-back will be hoping to get back to form this weekend at home against the Foxes.

Victor Wanyama:

The former Southampton man has been a regular for Spurs this season and he should keep his place in the side for this clash at the White Hart Lane.

Mousa Dembele:

The Belgian international has not been able to keep himself fit for long periods but when fit, he is one of the first names on the team sheet for the side. He should start this game against Leicester City.

Erik Lamela:

The Argentine came on late in the League Cup game and made a difference at the end earning his place in the starting XI for this game against the Foxes.

Dele Alli:

The young English midfielder is a star player for the Spurs and he will have to be at his best for his side to take all three points from this game.

Christian Eriksen:

Playing in his 4th season for the club, Eriksen is one of the senior players in the squad and he should step up on the night against Leicester City to help his side break the visitors on the night.

Heung-Min Son:

The inform forward for Spurs at the moment, Son had a decent outing against the Cherries but he will have to be better with his finishing if the Spurs are to take all three points from this game.
