Predicted Leicester City Line-up To Face Stoke City In The Premier League

Leicester City will look to extend their winning start to the Claude Puel era, when they face off against Stoke City, at the Bet365 Stadium, this Saturday.

The former Southampton manager led the Foxes to an impressive 2-0 win over Everton in his first game in charge this past weekend and will be hoping to build upon that victory by collecting another three points against Mark Hughes’ Potters. The weekend’s result propelled Leicester to 11th place in the Premier League standings, having earned 12 points from 10 games so far and a win this Saturday could see them break into the top half of the table.

Team News

Defender Robert Huth continues to be absent with a foot problem, while midfielder Matty James is on his way to recovery from an Achilles injury and could be ready for action in the coming weeks.

Here’s how the Foxes might take the field against Stoke on Saturday:

Manager: Claude Puel

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Kasper Schmeichel (GK)

The Dane kept a clean sheet last weekend, which was just his third clean sheet in the league this season, and will be keen on adding another one to his kitty.

Kasper Schmeichel

Danny Simpson (RB)

The club’s Mr.Consistent, one knows what to expect from the former Newcastle United man week in week out. A constant fixture in the side, it will stay so for the weekend.

Wes Morgan (CB)

Age might be catching up with the club captain, but he continues to push on with warrior-like displays in the heart of the defence. Should keep his place for the Stoke clash.

Harry Maguire (CB)

The England international should continue to partner the captain in the heart of the backline for the Foxes.

Christian Fuchs (LB)

At the left-back position, the ever-present Christian Fuchs is expected to take the pitch once again at the Bet365 Stadium.

Wilfried Ndidi

Wilfred Ndidi (CM)

The young midfielder is a vital cog in the wheel for the Foxes and should continue to feature from the get-go in the middle of the park.

Vicente Iborra (CM)

After a difficult start blighted by injury problems, the former Sevilla captain is finally starting to prove his value to the Leicester team. Should occupy the second pivot position.

Demarai Gray (RW)

The youngster was given a chance by the manager last weekend, and he made it count in a big way. Should keep his place on the right flank.

Riyad Mahrez (CAM)

The Algerian was installed in a more central role by Puel and it paid great dividends against Everton last weekend. Expect him to feature in the same role against the Potters.

Riyad Mahrez

Marc Albrighton (LW)

On the left-hand side of the trident, we might see a change, with the boss opting for the experience of Albrighton over Chilwell in what is a difficult away trip.

Jamie Vardy (ST)

Leading the line for the Foxes, against the back-three of Stoke should be England international Jamie Vardy. The 30-year old has scored 6 goals in 10 league games so far and expect him to do some damage on Saturday.
