West Ham United will host a solid Burnley side on Saturday, looking to shake off the embarrassing defeat against Swansea City in their previous match. The loss sent waves of frustration among the fans and David Moyes’ men will have to work hard to redeem themselves.
However, Burnley have been known to cause quite a few upsets this season and they simply cannot be taken lightly.
Edimilson Fernandes, Andy Carroll and Pedro Obiang continue to be long-term injuries. Moyes was also without James Collins (injury) and Angelo Ogbonna (illness) in the previous match. However, since Winston Reid got stretchered off, it does not look too good for the club at the back. Sam Byram is also expected to be out. Meanwhile, the Hammers will have to miss out on the services of Arthur Masuaku once more, who is currently serving a suspension.
Joe Hart (GK)
Having conceded 8 goals in his last 2 games, Moyes might be tempted to bring Hart in place of Adrian.
Michail Antonio (LWB)
Antonio replaced Patrice Evra in this role in the previous game and even scored a goal. After Evra’s lacklustre display, the player could be likely to start ahead of him.
Declan Rice (CB)
The young defender has been working quite hard in every single match and can be quite solid at the back.
Angelo Ogbonna (CB)
Having missed out the midweek clash as well, Ogbonna is expected to return over the weekend and take up his usual role at the heart of the defence.
Aaron Cresswell (CB)
Due to a severe lack of options, Cresswell has been utilized as a centre-back and he did struggle against Swansea. However, the player should be looking to do a lot better against Burnley.
Pablo Zabaleta (RWB)
Zabaleta will have to be at his absolute best to keep an unpredictable Burnley attack at bay.
Mark Noble (CM)
Dictating terms in the midfield will be crucial and Noble is experienced enough to put up a tough fight.
Joao Mario (CM)
After Kouyate’s dreadful performance against Swansea, Moyes might bring Mario into the mix to inject some freshness.
Manuel Lanzini (AM)
Lanzini’s creativity and power will prove to be crucial to unlocking a stubborn Burnley defence.
Javier Hernandez (ST)
Hernandez can do a lot better than he did against Swansea and the striker will be looking to move forward and get on the scoresheet in this one.
Marko Arnautovic (ST)
Arnautovic can be lethal on a good day and Burnley will certainly prove to be a major test for him.
