According to a report from Calciomercato, Crystal Palace are keen on signing Werder Bremen winger Milot Rashica.
Milot Rashica, 22, moved to the Bundesliga in January 2018 after three solid years in Holland with Vitesse Arnhem. He has been in good form this season, producing arguably his best performance in a Werder Bremen shirt during the 4-0 thrashing of Augsburg at the weekend.
The Kosovo international has four goals and an assist in 13 Bundesliga games this season and his performances have caught the attention of Crystal Palace. That said, should the Eagles make a move for Milot Rashica in the summer transfer window?
Crystal Palace have not enjoyed their best of seasons in the Premier League so far. They currently lie 13th on the table, having managed just 27 goals in 26 games. Certainly, the Eagles are capable of producing more goals given the quality they have in their attacking ranks.
Wilfried Zaha is Palace’s talisman but he has had an ordinary campaign this time around, managing only five goals. In fact, Andros Townsend has looked more involved and effective than Zaha for the Eagles.
And while Townsend has stepped up this term, the Eagles have lacked an ‘X’ factor in their attack. Such has been Palace’s struggles in front of goal that Roy Hodgson added Michy Batshuayi on loan from Chelsea in the January transfer window.
Signing Milot Rashica in the summer would certainly go a long way in solving Crystal Palace’s goalscoring problems next season. A versatile player, the 22-year-old can play on either wing or through the middle, although he has been deployed mostly on the left wing at Bremen by Florian Kohfeldt.
The Kosovo international possesses plenty of pace, trickery, flair, movement and it could be argued that his direct playing style would be a real asset for Crystal Palace. Rashica has that burst of pace and dribbling skills to wreak havoc on the opposition’s defence, often using his instincts to make clever runs behind the backline.
Not only is he adept at linking up with his teammates with clever touches and flicks in the final third but is also an extremely useful outlet during counter-attacks.
All in all, Rashica could be the player who could help Palace to reach the next level. At 22, Rashica is very young and a move to Selhurst Park in the summer would be perfect for his development.
