Crystal Palace’s strikers have been abysmal this season. Belgian powerhouse Christian Benteke is yet to get off the mark this campaign, Jordon Ayew has scored just once in over 1100 minutes of action and Connor Wickham has only played 99 minutes of league football this term.
Roy Hodgson has revolutionised the Londoners since his arrival and they sit 13th in the Premier League table. But the next aim for the Premier League’s oldest manager should be to get his side into the top half of the Premier League and the signing of Benjamin Tetteh will certainly help their cause.
Benjamin Tetteh is a Ghanaian striker who plays in the Czech league for Sparta Prague. The 21-year-old has scored 10 goals for the club so far this season and has become a fan favourite. Tetteh has been a pivotal part of the club who are currently placed 3rd in the league.
Standing at 6ft 4in, Tetteh is a massive presence up front for Sparta and is the club’s top goalscorer this season. The man from Ghana, despite his burly build, possesses incredible speed and acceleration to get away from the defenders.
Tetteh’s height makes him a monster in aerial duels and rarely ever comes second best. The youngster will have no trouble in adjusting to the physicality of the Premier League and should thrive playing alongside the likes of Wilfried Zaha.
Tetteh is brilliantly effective playing on the shoulder of the last defender and is deadly when through on goal. However, the Ghanaian also has the ability to run at defenders when he picks up the ball in his own half and is a nightmare for defenders due to his skills and trickery.
The 21-year-old can be compared to fellow African striker and former Chelsea legend Didier Drogba due to his powerful runs and clinical finishes. Tetteh should look to emulate the Ivorian and if he becomes half the player that Drogba was, he will be a fine forward for any club.

Crystal Palace have brought in Michy Batshuayi on loan from Chelsea and that means the Belgian would return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
The signing of Benjamin Tetteh will be a massive statement of intent from Palace and will certainly boost their chances of making it to the top half of the Premier League next season.
