Conte to make 2 changes for Burnley clash – Predicted 3-4-3 Chelsea starting XI

Predicted Chelsea Line-up To Face Burnley In The Premier League

Chelsea will travel to Burnley on Thursday with renewed confidence, having come from 2-0 down to beat Southampton last Saturday.

It was a very good response from a Giroud-inspired Chelsea, whose victory on the road was their first for nearly three months and just their second of 2018.

The win at Southampton and Tottenham’s defeat at home to Manchester City the following day saw the gap between Chelsea and Spurs get trimmed down to 7 points, with 5 games left to play.

Antonio Conte would hope his boys deliver the goods at Burnley who have punched above their weight this season.

Probable Chelsea XI

Formation: 3-4-3

Manager: Antonio Conte

Thibaut Courtois (GK)

Courtois is Chelsea’s undisputed No.1 and will hope to keep a clean sheet at Burnley.

Cesar Azpilicueta (RCB)

Azpilicueta has been ordinary in the last few games for the Blues. He needs to get back to his best to keep the hosts at bay on Thursday.

Cesar Azpilicueta

Gary Cahill (CB)

It has been a disappointing campaign for Cahill as the Chelsea skipper has lacked the discipline and awareness which made him such a crucial figure last season. However, he is likely to keep his place after the Southampton win.

Andreas Christensen (LCB)

Christensen has been a shining light in an otherwise disappointing campaign for the Blues.

Victor Moses (RWB)

He was dropped to the bench for the last weekend’s game but should return back to the starting XI against the Clarets.

Marcos Alonso (LWB)

Alonso was lucky to escape with a red card at Southampton for a reckless challenge on Shane Long. However, he played on and provided a delightful cross for Giroud to spark Chelsea’s comeback. One of the very few consistent performers for Conte, the Spaniard should start at Turf Moor.

N’Golo Kante

N’Golo Kante (CM)

Kante’s performances dipped after the start of 2018 but he has found his mojo lately, which should be a good sign for the Blues. He will have to be at his best as Chelsea need to keep the Burnley midfield at bay.

Cesc Fabregas (CM)

Fabregas is the orchestrator of Chelsea’s attacks from the middle of the park. He lacks pace but makes up for it with his creativity and exquisite crossing abilities.

Willian (RW)

On current form, it is hard to dispossess Willian from his position. He is a sure starter at right-wing on Thursday.

Eden Hazard (LW)

Hazard has been lacklustre of late but the goal against Southampton would have done his confidence a world of good. The Belgian will be hoping to get more involved at Burnley and help Conte’s team clinch three valuable points.

Olivier Giroud (ST)

It will be very unjust if Giroud doesn’t start at Turf Moor after his heroics against Southampton. With Morata clearly struggling, it is high time that Conte starts Giroud for the next couple of games.
