Celtic will be aiming to make it two wins from two in the Europa League tonight when they take on Red Bull Salzburg at the Red Bull Arena. The Scottish outfit have already picked up a win against Rosenborg and another win here should help them cement their place at the top.
Brendan Rodgers’ side are currently in 5th place on the Scottish Premiership table and haven’t been at their usual best this season. Celtic did pick up a win against Aberdeen in the league last weekend but they have to be more consistent in their displays in order to progress to the next round in Europe.
Celtic have never won an away European match in Austria, conceding at least twice in each of those games. Salzburg also held the Scottish outfit for a draw in the 2014-15 Europa League group stages.
Rodgers will be hoping for a strong and composed performance from his side after failing to keep pace with the league leaders. The Scottish champions have never won a Europa League away match in 14 attempts and history seems to be against them in this fixture. They have also managed to keep just one clean sheet in 14 away games in Europe.
It will be interesting to see if the Hoops come out on top tonight, nevertheless, this promises to be an exciting contest.
