Statistical comparison – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang vs Harry Kane

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been on fire so far this season whenever Arsenal have turned up as a team. While they’ve had some disappointing results like the one against Wolves at The Emirates. He has scored 14 goals and is top of the Premier League scorer’s charts.

Harry Kane is doing what he does is the most accurate way to put how his season has gone. He scores goals at an alarming rate for Tottenham and is arguably the deadliest predator in the Premier League. Kane is also on top of the scoring charts level on top with Aubameyang.

Both players have been the most important for their respective clubs as expected. Both players have appeared in all 22 league games so far and have been crucial for their respective clubs. Here’s how these two stars compare from a statistical viewpoint after 22 games.

Statistical Analysis

Harry Kane has got 1 assist more than Pierre this season. Kane also boasts an almost incomparable 3.5 shots per game which makes him a massive value to score in every game when compared to Aubameyang at just 2.6.

Also, Kane averages 1.5 successful dribbles a game while the Arsenal man comes in at a measly 0.7. Another win for Kane is in the offsides department with Aubameyang getting caught offside 0.8 times per game compared to Kane’s 0.3, which means that he only gets caught offside once in every 3 games.

Finally, Harry Kane has had 37 shots on target from a total of 77 in the season so far while Aubameyang has got 24 on target out of 57. While this does sound like a bad thing, what it means is that Pierre actually boasts a better conversion rate from his limited number of shots

Verdict

Harry Kane has scored 84 league goals for Spurs in the last 3 seasons and comparing a player with a top English pedigree against a player who is having his first full season in England is a bit far fetched. While this may be the case, the stats from this season so far do not lie.

Harry Kane is a more superior striker in terms of getting goals for his team because he has consistently scored goals for Tottenham for many years now. His ability to turn a bad ball into a good one is what makes him stand out in the league.

His footballing intelligence can’t be questioned by Aubameyang who boasts a better conversion rate but that is solely down to the fact that Spurs create a lot more chances than Arsenal do. As for this comparison, Harry Kane is the outright winner but others like Sergio Aguero or Mohamed Salah could have one or two things to say about this.
